Art of responsibility and its advantages at work

When I joined Nukta Africa as a Multimedia Journalist intern I knew that I had to take on new responsibilities for self-growth in my career as well as to achieve the mission and vision of the company. To understand clearly what I was supposed to do, I had an opportunity to be given an orientation session with my supervisor.
The important key issue which I still continue doing up to date, is the art of responsibility. Responsibility is the act of performing duties that have been described as part of your work. This helps an employee to take his or her part in the team so as to accomplish their goals such as short-term goals or long-term goals.
At the office, it is our professional habit for each team member to mention his or her tasks to the supervisor throughout the week. With this trend, it is easy to track the status and the progress of the tasks so as to meet the deadline.
Perhaps you would ask yourself what are the benefits of being responsible at work, this article takes you through on some common benefits as follows;
The benefits of being responsible at work
It helps to complete your duties on time
For work to be completed on time, there should be concentration on the task because if there will be less focus that means the task will be late delivered and not meet the deadline. It is good to not do unnecessary issues when performing your duties.
The key to accomplishing the mission and vision of the company.
For any company that wishes to survive and prosper, it needs an energetic team that is responsible for doing their duties so as to meet the objectives of the company and eventually the mission and vision. Therefore, the more responsible team members the company has, the higher the chance to accomplish the mission and vision of the company.
A part of your career growth
The act of being responsible at work means a lot in your career growth because it is through responsibilities that will make you great. Taking on duties will help you to learn new things that you have never learned before but also learn from mistakes that might occur during your work. By solving issues that will occur gives more alternatives for instance in problem-solving at work.
It reduces the chance of workload at the office
By being responsible at work a person will have a clear do list sheet that will show the most and less priority tasks to do. This helps to perform your work effectively and reduce the workload that might occur unnecessarily.
Lastly, when you are responsible at work you might be rewarded or promoted. It depends on the policy of the employer where you work but most of them when it comes to hard workers and responsible employees there is a higher chance to get rewarded or promoted. Since you have managed to reach the specific targets of the company’s goal many employers reward or promote their employees as a source of motivation.
This year Nukta Africa is celebrating five years since its establishment, indeed I can say if it was not for the team which was responsible throughout the years the company would have perished and I could have not been here today. Let’s grow together by being responsible for more prosperity.
